Little by Little

I made the long, arduous walk to the scale this morning hoping to see some good news. The results were mixed. I had lost a little bit, but not as much as I had hoped. The scale this morning reflected a reading of 261 pounds (91 pounds from goal).

No Complaints

I didn’t do any exercise this weekend, thus I can’t really complain too much. I visited a burger place this weekend that offers baskets of endless fries. I passed on the fries. Instead I opted for black beans as my side dish. Also, instead of a sesame seed bun on my burger, I opted for it to be wrapped in lettuce instead.

My new friend (UGH).

With all these changes, my lunch was sure to suck, right? Well, not so much. It was DIFFERENT, but it was OK. They wrapped the burger in a little too much lettuce. Once I peeled back a few layers, it was pretty good. Also, the beans were surprisingly good as well even though they looked like they were floating in motor oil. Once I got past that visual, I was able to consume them quite easily.

Nifty 50

I changed my quest to 90 By 50, meaning I want to lose this 90 pounds by the time my 50th birthday rolls around in a little under two years. I know it will be a long, hard process. If I do, indeed, make my goal, it will be the first time since high school that I will have been that low.

Tonight, I am going to check out a couple of gyms to see what they have to offer. Dieting without exercising and weight training will take forever to shed my bulk. I can use anything to speed up this process. Heck, when I hit 170, I think I will probably down a pizza to celebrate!
