My first assignment for my WordPress.com Blogging University course is to set three goals for my blog. Over the past couple of years, I have never really thought much about goals for my blog, but, recently, I have been a bit discouraged. I have recently written some decent blog posts and hardly anyone even saw them, which made me ask myself if I was just wasting my time.
My three goals would be:
- Try to get up to 250 followers by the end of 2017. If time and effort are being spent on these posts, it would be nice to know that someone is seeing them.
- Develop a more precise focus for the blog. Since my blog’s inception, I have pretty much written about whatever was on my mind. I guess it was a bit therapeutic for me. It would be nice to know that people are seeing your posts and reacting to them in some way.
- Find a way to make a little bit of cash from my efforts. Yes, I like to write and be creative, but it would be nice to see a little bit of a monetary reward for my efforts. I don’t want to be a sell out for the almighty dollar, but a couple of nickels now and then wouldn’t hurt.
